We opened Mau House Cat Hotel after our experience with needing to board our cat. We were quite surprised by the lack of choices for cat only boarding in the East Bay. That set us on a journey to find what is possible and what cats really need.

After several years of talking with experts, attending symposiums, volunteering at shelters and with rescue groups, the picture of what our cat hotel needed to be became clear.
